GREEN

My TCG Design process not only focuses on cabinetry and other product providers with green practices, but I educate you on Green Kitchen Practices that you can use after your new kitchen is installed. During the TCG design process, I will not only make your kitchen look beautiful, I will make it efficient and a pleasure to cook in. Cooking is a passion I share with many of my clients.

From The Cabinet Guy

By designing a kitchen with both the environment and cooking up a mean crab cake in mind, I can incorporate cabinets and other design ideas to make recycling and composting easier to work into your normal cooking routine. I can also design custom storage solutions and educate you on the proper "stocked pantry" making cooking at home easier and more enjoyable which will save you money and help the environment with less trips to the grocery store and less eating out at restaurants.

When selecting your cabinetry provider, be sure to educate yourself on their "Green" credentials. The finish and other chemicals such as formaldehyde used in the materials of some cabinet makers and manufactures cabinets can directly affect the health of your family. Be sure to especially investigate cabinets that come from overseas. You've seen toys get recalled from lead paint, imaging having to get your beautiful new kitchen ripped out because of a toxic finish!

Look for the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Certification

From The Cabinet Guy

The KCMA or "Kitchen Cabinet Manufactures Association" has established a certification program for environmental stewardship. Be sure to not only make sure your cabinetry comes from a manufacture that carries this certification, but also dig deeper and find out what REALLY makes their products GREEN and what are they doing beyond their products for sustainable forestry and the environment.

From The Cabinet Guy

One of the leaders in Green practices in the cabinet industry is Wellborn Cabinets. They have gone above and beyond Green KCMA requirements by not only creating the BEST Green finish in the semi-custom market, but they also built their own power plant inside their manufacturing facilities that runs off the waste generated from the manufacturing process! You can find out more about what Wellborn is doing on their website at www.wellborn.com and clicking the "Green Choice" link
